The Chinese Board on Books for Young People (CBBY) was established in 1990 in Beijing after China’s first participation of IBBY World Congress in 1986 in Tokyo.
Over 30 professional children's book publishers and over 200 children’s newspapers and magazines as well as many famous Chinese children’s book authors are members of CBBY.
CBBY hosted the 30th IBBY World Congress in Macau 20-24 September 2006. The Congress Theme was ‘Children’s Literature and Social Development’.
